This is the Top Gear edition, limited by PMA at 2000 pieces. The model comes with a certificate and a special card box having the Top gear logo and a short story about the real car printed on. Is already known that the Veyron model made by PMA is a very disputed one. I’m very sorry to admit that this manufacturer level becomes very low from some time. Especially if we speak about the modern model cars. Taking a look at their Bugatti Veyron Top Gear edition, which I have in my collection, but with nothing different by the other models, I see a model made in hurry, where the essential parts where omitted to be proper replicated.
The paint looks good, uniform, well applied even if not so shinny and smooth like that one from the AutoArt version. The air vents are covered with mesh made of plastic. From an unknown reason PMA chose to replicate the chrome from the real car using silver paint. And this is awful! Even, if on the front mask frame or fuel lids the silver paint is well applied, there must be chrome instead! This solution is unacceptable from a manufacturer who pretends to make models for a certain range and selling them for a certain price. The “Bugatti” logo is an individual piece and the “EB” logo on the rear side is a metallic photo-etched part. The front lights are simply made, no attachment stubs can be seen. Looking from the lateral side the stance and general shape are looking pretty good, but again the door handles are painted in silver, instead of being chromed. On the rear side, the lights are a little bit strange looking, maybe the plastic used is too clear, because they have not replicated the LED bulbs. More things are disturbing here. First of all, the spoiler is functional, but is wrong made.
They replicated the spoiler from the show-car on the road version. A little active spoiler must be added under the big one. The engine cover isn’t detachable, the engine looks cheap and plasticky. They’ve tried to replicate the chrome on the turbo vents using a shiny silver paint, but the result is far away from reality. Under the spoiler the enormous grill presented on the real car was modeled by a textured piece of plastic. It looks awful! They didn’t put a license plate and the space remains empty and black, not the thing that you want to see there. The air splitter made of carbon in reality was paint in black by PMA. For me is inadmissible! The rims are looking great and the good news is that they've used the chrome here! In fact the result is very good, if we are to put together the brake disks covered with a thin metallic cover and dimpled to fake crossed drill. The calipers are tampo branded with “Bugatti”. The “EB” logo is present in the center of the wheel, but the tires aren’t branded.
The interior is decent, even if is looking a little boring because they chose to replicate it in a dark color. They used chrome for central console and steering-wheel spokes, the buttons were moulded and the indicators are looking very nice and realistic. The same texture from the central chromed block was used and like in the AutoArt case I’m not sure if it must replicate carbon fiber, a wrong option or the aluminium texture. From a general look the interior is well done. The front bonnet can be open, the hinges are very small and they added two fine struts to keeps it open. The interior is carpeted and some warning labels can be seen. A decent job here.
Personally I don’t recommend this model, having too many important details ruined. I still consider it an improper model for its range and not least sold for an AutoArt’s Veyron price. And the other one is superior at all.
