Only few models of the Australian cars are coming out under the AutoArt brand. Is already known that AutoArt are producing and selling their models of australian cars under the Biante brand. The Holden Coupe concept comes as an individual Aa product, having only a different printed card box with the name and logo of the real manufacturer. Is a limited model at 8004 pieces and an authenticity certificate with the individual number of each model is included. The model looks great from outside, being covered in a gold paint. When I’m writing this article the model has almost 7 years old. The paintjob level is the same as for the recent released models. Is applied in a thin layer, metallic and glossy. The paint job was done perfectly and no differences between the painted plastic and metal parts can be observed. The radiator grill is perforated, only that one included in the front bumper is replicated on a full transparent plastic base. The front lights are attached without visible stubs, but aren’t great detailed. The same observation for the fog lights. Looking on the lateral side the stance looks good, the door handle appears to be a plastic made individual part and for the turn signals they used a transparent plastic and are attached with a visible stub. On the rear side the taillights have a great look, made of transparent plastic and having the reverse lights detailed in the correct white color. No real license plates were added to the model, only printed plates with the real manufacturer name. The final part of the exhaust pipe is paint in silver and not chromed as it should be. The “Holden” logos are metallic photo etched decals and are looking very nice.
The rims and brake system are very poor detailed. The disks are dimpled to fake crossed drilling and nothing more. A black wash was a good option. No real note was added in this zone, unfortunately. Tires are made of soft rubber and branded.
On the rear window the demister system was applied. The entire body is made of metal except the bumpers. Four opening features are available, the both lids and doors. The RHD cockpit looks very nice and was carefully crafted without visible gaps that easily can be find on the major part of the models. The central console has all the buttons moulded and individually marked, for the indicators and central display they used a sticker. Is looking good and all the marks are visible. I don’t like the gear shift, it looks strange and unfinished. But, the steering wheel is fantastic looking, having applied the Holden logo in the center. The air vents for the back seats aren’t detailed and have a bad look. No carpet was used inside, only a textured plastic to replicate it.
The both lids are opening on over sized hinges. The trunk is covered in the same textured plastic. Under the front lid, the engine is quite modest. More individual parts were applied, some of them not being properly finished and having a bad look. Some marks for the battery and few caps can be seen. Under the lid, the noise protection was replicated.
This model wasn’t a success. After almost 7 years is still easy to find and for more than a decent price. Is an ordinary model, an example for the Aa’s start in making models and could be a good choice for the australian cars enthusiasts.
