I can't go further without saying few words about one of the last Ford modelcars released on the market by the DNA Collectibles. The awesome people from DNA let me have one of their samples and thanks to that I can evaluate and have some thoughts about what it is their first american car reproduced in scale, the Ford SVT150 Lightning. I like the american cars and their representation in scale and this one is more than welcomed to join the collection. The work's result of Ford's special vehicule division is finally reproduced in 1:18 scale and yes, there is a big difference from what we have got made in 1:16 scale. The 1:18 replica is much bigger than the previous 1:16 from traditional Bburago back in the days and confirm once again the strange proportion of their models.

The aggressive front of the car, the general proportions and the lower stance are well made replicate by DNA, the paint job and the level of details being as usual at high standards. It is impressive not only by the size, but by its weight, too and is the heaviest model from this manufacturer I ever came in contact with. The model comes with very detailed front lights, real grills and all the badges replicated by metallic photo etched pieces, legible and high quality. All the model is very well put together and taking a look arround it is easy to spot the original details from the real

thing: metallic door lock, the beautiful detailed rear lights with clear cover, the double lateral exhaust or the two pieces mirrors. What about the wheels? great things as always, even something extra, because the tyre's side walks are marked and play its part especially here, on a truck, the rims are precise made wearing their five rivets and the car logo in the midle. Behind them, the brake system came with metallic coated discs of different size for both axes and calipers that need some vibrant color to be put in evidence better.
For the interior the manufacturer used the same good looking plastic, carefully finished and the details are emboding to perfection the glorious cockpit of the 90's. A lot of manual switches, the stereo display still legible were precise molded after the real one. The specific white dials for the performance models and the fabric made seat belts are complete the view here. If is something I miss here is the rich flock carpet they usually use on their models, missing here maybe for costs reasons. Underneath the model keeps well moulded details and the individually number, because this is a limited series and every model comes with its own number.
