Lamborghini Gallardo seems to be a favorite car for AutoArt. They put in scale all generations and a lot of variations of this car. The Valentino Balboni edition is particular in the real life and even for the scaled model this thing could not be denied. The model looks very good from outside and is available in exotic colors which fit it very well. I’ve chosen the Ithaca green shade for my model, a paint which in my opinion is perfect for the Lamborghini models. Now is a very hard to find shade. The paint is superb applied, shinny, thin, metallic and with a discrete pearl effect when is observed in the strong light. The specific stripes of this version are precisely painted. The paint job is exemplary. Real lights, having even the LED segment replicated and real meshes for all the air vents are the strongest parts of the exterior. The front logo is a separate piece and looks great, all the rest being photo-etched decals. The shut lines are minimal and the stance is spot on. I like that AutoArt renounced to paint the lateral turn lights and now appears like separate parts made of colored plastic. On the rear side the grill between taillights is perforated, again a step forward in the development of the model. All the Lamborghini models, as can be seen in the previous articles had this part replicated by a textured plastic base, just because is more dense and needs more work for the final product. The final parts of the exhaust pipes are beautiful covered with a qualitative chrome. I like the rims and the brake system a lot, they've made an extraordinary job and the result looks very realistic.
I like the rims and the brake system a lot, they've made an extraordinary job and the result looks very realistic. The rims are accurately reproduced with thin spokes, individually painted studs and the car logo tampo applied in the center. The brake disks are looking in the same way with their carbon made 1:1 counterparts. Are dimpled to fake crossed drill. The calipers were black painted and branded with the car name.
The doors are opening on real hinges and reveal the beautiful interior. The manufacturer has carefully followed the specific color scheme of this version. On the central console we have a lot of buttons and switches, each one being separately marked. I like the frames around the main indicators accurately done and the shift gear paddles with the correct shape and size. The steering wheel has the right shape and color, even the logo placed in the middle. A nice touch here for the air vents with the chromed frame. The pedals are a little bit over sized and for the seats a textured plastic was perfect, in my opinion. The “Gallardo” inscription on the doors entry is a decal. On the rear window is present a decal including the edition name and the V.Balboni signature as on the real car. The interior is carpeted. A very good done interior, I can say.
Both lids are opening using struts, which finally succeed to keep them wide open! On the rear engine lid a transparent window was placed like on the real thing, having the near air vents covered with real mesh. Is remarkable, because their dimensions are really tiny. The engine is correct made and painted, surrounded by the very good looking perforated grills. The Lamborghini marks, some rivet heads, few rigid moulded hoses and a single container cap are the only details, nothing more could be seen even at the real engine bay. Under the front lid the compartment is fully carpeted.
This Gallardo version features a high attention for details and crafting, being an example of the new upgraded Lamborghini models. A very beautiful model with a special paint, a really exotic result in the end. I highly recommend it for its quality and fine details.
