I’ve always considered Norev an honest manufacturer, because they are offering the right model for the asked price. Are making budget and few premium models usually. Even, some Dealer edition models are available. And aren’t bad at all! Are carefully made, qualitative and all of this for a little more than an ordinary budget model price. I will try to bring out your attention, reviewing a Norev model of 5 years old(2013). At the moment of its release the LP 640 version of Lamborghini Murcielago, had no competitors on the model market. Two years ago, AutoArt released their version of LP 640. Looking at the model today, after 5 years, is still good. And you’ll see why. It has a metallic body along with plastic parts, like its competitor. The paint is very nice, glossy and perfectly applied without differences between the painted plastic and metallic parts.
Unfortunately, for keeping a low production price, Norev chose to cover the air vents with a transparent plastic base, having the mesh texture, printed on. The effect isn’t bad, but looking at the Aa one the real meshes are looking awesome. The lights are pretty nice, without attaching stubs and having enough details. The side turn lights are missing. On the rear side the taillights are great made and through the transparent cover of the air vents 2 huge fans, modeled on the model’s structure can be seen. For the final part of the exhaust they chose a chrome cover. The badge and rear inscription are tampo applied. All shut lines are minimal, the model body has good proportions, but the stance appears to be high in the front.
The rims are looking very good, keeping the real shape and having the Lamborghini logo in the center. The studs were nicely modeled, too. For the brake system they chose to keep the disks painted in silver, but are dimpled to fake crossed drill. Yellow paint and the name of the manufacturer were applied on the caliper's surface. Tires aren’t branded, but are keeping the right profile. Very nice result in my opinion.
Are beautiful replicated the air intakes behind the rear side windows, which are functional and stay open. In the same area the fuel lid was finished to appears like an individual piece. The doors replicate the scissors opening system from the real car. And are staying open by itself. Looking inside, the interior is nice, being done carefully and simple. The carbon fiber is applied on the central console and looks good, the buttons are modeled and individually marked. The steering wheel is good done and has the logo applied in the center. It looks a little bit over sized and this is valid for the shift gear paddles, too. The plastic of the seats was textured to look like the real leather. No carpet is available here. The effort is good and the result is proper for this model range.
Both lids can be open. The rear one is made of transparent plastic and reveals the good looking engine bay. The engine is well moulded and painted, being surrounded by carbon covered surfaces. For sure lacks some hoses, wires and recipients, but thinking at the price is a good quality rapport. No detailing or carpet in the front compartment.
Norev made a very good and cheap model. It looks really nice in reality. The exterior, engine details and the decent interior are very good results. Of course the younger AutoArt model, comes with better details. But for the Norev model’s price you can buy only the box from Aa’s. Is a solution to think about.
